Taco Mexico
About This Spot
Stepping into Taco Mexico on Broadway Boulevard feels like discovering a tucked-away corner of authentic Mexican street food culture right in Garland. The space is modest, humbly inviting you to slow down and savor something familiar yet full of character. There’s an unhurried rhythm here, where friendly faces and the scent of freshly made tortillas remind you that this is a place rooted in tradition and care.
The atmosphere carries the warmth of a neighborhood gem, the kind of spot where locals stop by not just for a quick bite, but to reconnect with the textures and flavors of home-style cooking. The menu, vibrant and deeply textured, offers more than just meals — it opens a window into the culinary soul of Mexico, from warmly spiced tacos to slow-cooked stews and hand-pressed gorditas. It’s a place where each bite tells a story, whether it’s the lightly charred edges of a brisket taco or the satisfying heft of a torta wrapped in a fresh bun.
There’s a simplicity to Taco Mexico that doesn’t overshadow the care behind the food; tortillas are handmade, portions generous, and the ingredients thoughtfully prepared. You’ll notice the small details — the gentle heat of a well-balanced salsa, the wholesome heartiness of a caldillo — that transform an everyday meal into a quietly memorable experience. The pace is relaxed enough to let you linger over a Mexican Coke or a uniquely earthy quesadilla, yet lively enough to feel the pulse of a space appreciated by both regulars and first-timers eager to escape the usual takeout routine.
What makes Taco Mexico stand apart is its ability to feel both familiar and invitingly new. It’s not about flashiness but about honest, comforting food served with warmth and a sprinkle of smiles. Whether you're indulging in a midday taco or gathering with friends for a casual evening, this little spot offers a brief but meaningful escape to authentic Mexican flavors crafted with heart.

Taco Mexico is fairly new to the area, so I decided to stop by and see what it was all about. It's a small place but If i know anything of finding small places like this it will go either good or bad. We all know if it was bad I wouldn't be making this review. So I ordered tacos and a sope which were great the tacos have an option of fresh hand made tortillas. Which were really good the sope was really good everything on it blended really well togethere. I had some tripe and the guy that was taking my order asked me how I want it the tripe. Which I love that they ask because I like my tripe really crispy and crunchy so awsome when it's like that. Some people like it abit chewy which I dont like too much. The sope was great fluffy and good combinations of ingradients on top. Also the salsas they offer were really good the green guac that is good and spicy and a red that has a really good flavor. Also which I was most impressed was the green salsa they had. It was like a pesto consistency spicier than both other salsas which was really good and I really enjoyed. So I hope you guys go give it a try and get some good tacos.

The food is really GOOD! And, something you don't see anymore, good prices! Over all, a good hidden gem! Try the gorditas, the quesadillas both: the flour and the corn! Tacos are good too. Definitely going back.

I tried this place for the first time. I tried the huitlacoche quesadilla and the chilaquiles red with eggs and meat. The quesadilla was freshly made, purple hand-made masa but was a bit too hot for me. The quilaquiles were also freshly made with little meat but the rest portions were big. Not too much breakfast selection, I would try lunch or dinner instead. Great coffee! My cost was about $23 for one person.

Fantastic little hole in the wall type of place. We got it to-go, but that didnt take away from how good everything was. My favorite of all the tacos was the chorizo, followed closely by the pastor. I like that the put everything on the side and boxed up the tacos separately, kept everything more fresh tasting. The place itself wasnt too big, so large parties might have to get it to go as well.
